Silver for Jake
Josh Kerr and Jake Wightman took their place in the 1500m at the Tokyo World Championships

It was Jake who took the Silver Medal and he was so close to repeating his 2022 success, but it was the Portuguese athlete Isaac Nader who just caught him before the finish line to win in 3:34.10. with Jake at 3:34.12 to miss out on victory by just two hundredths of a second.
After two years of injury Jake had stated that he was happy to make the Final and this Silver felt like Gold.

Unfortunately for Josh it was not to be, after around 800m showing signs of pain from an injury and in obvious pain Josh carried on to finish in 14th place.
Well done to both our athletes, 2 athletes from one club in the World Championship Final a great achievement.
