Jean and Robertson

Jean and John became involved in athletics when their daughters joined ESH and from their base in Innerleithen they gave over 50 years of service to the club.  Johnnie coached daughter Lynn, a talented discus thrower to bronze medals in the Senior Scottish Championships in the late 1970s.  He became an official and along with wife Jean, who was a qualified timekeeper, they would be picked up at Biggar en route to YDL and National League matches, the length and breadth of the UK.  Both could not have been prouder when their grandchildren showed themselves to be talented athletes. Competing for the club and  trips down south were very much a family affair for the Roberstsons, whose contribution to the club was immeasurable.
