In a rough and tumble race Josh moved to the front on the final lap with Jake Wightman giving chase, but Josh pulled away on the home straight, leaving the rest of the field behind.

Jake who had an injury which had disturbed his training for the last two weeks had hoped to medal and was disappointed with his run as it was not the run he was expecting.
