Award for Jacob

Congratulations to Jacob McKinlay on his award of top Male Thrower at the Pickering Memorial Throws International.

On a warm day in Loughborough a young team of Scottish throwers made their mark at the Pickering Memorial Throws International.

The event is organised by England Athletics and named after the famous Pickering family. Via our International Handbook, this was Throws Pathway International opportunity.

Jacob McKinlay, who represented GB and NI Juniors at the Loughborough International, pulled on a Scotland vest for the first time and set an incredible personal best of 57.80m (just 20cm shy of the World U20 Standard of 58.00m) furthering his mark of 56.63m from the Loughborough International and again breaking his own Club Record

This throw gained him the Male Performance of the Day with his rewards including £500 from the Ron Pickering Foundation.
