Cross Country Grand Prix

Every year, all senior runners compete throughout the cross country season for 2 superb trophies. 2024/25 winners were Mercè Sánchez Oller and Gavin Phillip.

The aim is to encourage our athletes to target the same races, fostering a team atmosphere with large numbers of EAC at these races, and hopefully pick up team prizes along the way in addition to any individual prizes and medals.

How does it work?

Runners should aim to compete in as many of the races across the season as they can. The more races, the more points.

The numbers of points you score is based on how many club athletes compete in your race and were you come within the club. If 10 club runners compete in the race, the highest placed runner gets 10 points, the second 9 points etc. If 50 runners compete, then the first runner gets 50 points.

How do you win?

There will be a winner for the Senior Women’s competition and the Senior Men’s competition awarded to the athletes with the most points in each case.

Prizes will be presented at the Annual Christmas party (including some masters category prizes too).

Cross Country League Tables 2025/2026 - Women

Hannah Cox still at the top of the table after Glasgow Masters, but if the not-running-Nationals rumour is true then Kirsty Walker in a very strong position. Sheenagh MacLullich now up to third after a get run at masters and first V40 looks in the bag. Karen Dobbie's lead at V50 shrinks again as Janet Dunbar jumps from 10th to 8th with a great run at Glasgow - the V50 champs now down to the Nationals, but maybe too much of a gap? Anne Duncan looks very strong for the V60 title.

Cross Country League Tables 2025/2026 - Men

With only the Nationals to go there’s drama in the Men’s table. Gary Constable has a big task ahead to try to overtake Sam Leitch. In V40 Steve Bedwell is only just hanging on to his lead, people closing in on him - Jonathan Henderson and John Lenehan both now in range with good runs at Nationals. Tim Hely jumps right up the table to 3rd overall and uncatchable for V50. Martin Ferguson now unbeatable at V60. But high stakes at V70 as Brian Howie has closed to 1 point on Eric Stevenson - Brian ahead on event count back so Nationals now winner takes all showdown.
